Next we drove around the island. Since having children we normally take the fastest way to get to a certain spot but the drive around the island truly is beautiful. We tried to soak in the beauty. Moriah knew we were headed towards a hike so we did experience the constant, "okay, let's get out. let's hike here." But it was fun, and Madalyn got in a little nap before our hike.
Before Madalyn was born we spent most free Saturday mornings hiking. Since Madalyn, we haven't gotten back into it like we wanted. But when planning our last Saturday, a hike was a definite. Madalyn did great in the backpack, and Moriah did super walking. We selected a small hike on the north shore at Waimea Bay. It was about 3/4 a mile in to a pretty waterfall. Moriah walked the whole way. After our hike we enjoyed hamburgers at one of our north shore favorites--Ku'u Aina's.
Sunday after church and naps we headed to our favorite beach spot. After taking in some brief shopping at the outlet mall and grabbing KFC, we headed to Ko Olina. We enjoy arriving there late afternoon, eating an early dinner, playing in the ocean and sand, and enjoying the beautiful sunset. Both our girls just love being outside and love the beach and ocean. We are all going to miss the beauty and ideal weather of Hawaii. What a fun place to live these last 3 years.

all your descriptions make me miss hawaii alot.
I loved the pics of your hike. You do such a good job with your blog. I think it's great the Moriah eats spam and rice. She will love all of the new local food she is about to experience. Do you guys have the tradition of taking the girls to breakfast because of how your dad used to take you to breakfast? Remembering that made me smile and make me miss you!
